Armory Chamber
Description of the tour:
At the mention of the Armory, men, as a rule, become animated, because their interest in weapons is laid down at the genetic level. However, the Armory is not at all like an arsenal, but an interesting museum located on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin. There is not only a rich collection of weapons, but also ancient state regalia, royal clothes and household items of royal persons - carriages, clothes, silverware.
Interestingly, the Weapons Order was created solely as a weapon storage. Later, by decree of Peter the Great, particularly valuable and rare items began to be transferred to the workshop at the Chamber, and the Chamber itself became part of the Large Treasury.
Here you will see exhibits that it is impossible to pass by:
- The legendary Monomakh hat, a symbol of the autocratic power of Russia,
- The real sabers of Minin and Pozharsky,
- Armor of Russian heroes,
- The coronation dress of Catherine I.
The constant interest of visitors is caused by a double throne made for the young princes Ivan and Peter. Through a small door in it, the young rulers were prompted with the correct answers. In a short description, it is impossible to list all the interesting exhibits of the Armory, including: an extensive collection of silver and gold products, ceremonial weapons, precious fabrics and even items of ceremonial horse decoration. Come and you won't regret it!
